Hey friends,
It has been a doozy of a day. (Hence why this post is coming out quite late.) I feel this time of year is super bananas, and so far this week has proven this theory. (It’s Tuesday. Good luck, rest of the week.)
Anyway, I did open my advent calendar today and manage to take some pictures, because it was a lipstick day! Specifically it was Performance Colors’ Bad Girl lipstick! (Lipstick makes everything better. And beer.)
I hope you guys are hanging in there, too, and please enjoy a lipstick swatch. I hope it makes your day better!
(If you want to know more about this little indie calendar, check, out this intro post.)
Day 9: Performance Colors’ Lipstick in Bad Girl, ($6, or $12 for 3 lipsticks!)
Bad Girl- semi-opaque reddish purple-brown, cranberry wine brown
From the swatch on the website, I was expecting this to be a bit more deep berry. There is a definitely more red-brown to this lipstick than I had first thought, definitely more of a wine color than berry, but that’s not a bad thing.
On my lips this actually comes across as a nice reddish-purple brown shade I could wear to work if I layer it lightly. Since I had thought this would be too deep purple for my job, this is a pleasant surprise. There is a hint of shimmer and sparkle, but it’s fairly subtle, so I think I could pull it off in polite company. (Plus people are learning to just accept my glitter.)
This is the Restorative formula and I found that it was very lightweight and comfortable to wear. I was able to drink and snack and still get 3-4 hours of wear without touch ups. I like this formula better than the matte, which while comfortable to wear, was a bit drying. (But that’s really just typical of me and mattes. I just do some extra lip moisturizing at night. Beauty is pain, you guys.)
I mentioned customer service in my first post on Performance Colors, but if you’re in a hurry I will say that I had no issues with my order at all. It shipped quickly and the owner has been very helpful in answering my further questions about her lipstick shades.
Wearing this to work tomorrow, you guys!!
Questions of the Day:
-Are you hanging in there? We can do it!
-Any lipstick shades catch you by surprise?
Love,
Rebs!
