Hey friends!
I hope you’ve had a fantastic holiday! Mr. Danger and I had two awesome days with both sides of our families. We are super lucky to have families who we love and enjoy spending time with, and a good time was had by all!
For the final Indie Advent Calender day, Mr. Danger threw a bunch of bath products in a box, and it was such a nice little haul with Haus of Gloi, sixteen92, and Solstice Scents products. I am a very spoiled lady!
Let’s check it out!
Day 25: Haus of Gloi, sixteen92, and Solstice ScentsÂ
Haus of Gloi’s Whipped Soap in Sweet Potato Treat, ($7) and a mini body butter in Sweet Potato Treat, ($5).
Sweet Potato Treat-For me, this is the epitome of holiday comfort food: Sweet potatoes with mild spices, butter and brown sugar baked off with marshmallows.
This was my favorite scent of Haus of Gloi’s Yule Collection. It just smells absolutely delicious and scrumptious, it reminds me of Mr. Danger’s Sweet Potato and Pecan pie he bakes every year.
I think Haus of Gloi’s Whipped Soaps are my favorite out there. It’s fluffy like whipped cream, and light and moisturizing. Plus, you can smell the scent for a while after you use it. I’ve vowed to never use shaving cream again, baiscally.
I also really enjoy their Pumpkin Butters. They are very light and moisturizing, they absorb quickly and aren’t greasy. Plus, the scent lasts forever. Tobac Pumpkin Butter has become my holy grail lotion, but Sweet Potato Treat is definitely going to get mixed in the rotation.
sixteen 92’s Toasted Marshmallow and Wicked in Mini Lotions ($3.50), and Lolita in Mini Shower Gel.Â
I actually ordered this as a gift set during Black Friday for $15. I was able to get the Black Sugar mini lotion into the calendar before Mr. Danger stole the rest for the final day.
sixteen92’s lotions are very nice, but I don’t think they’re as moisturizing as Haus of Gloi’s. That being said, they are very lightweight and easily absorbed by the skin, so I’ll probably be keeping one of these minis in my purse for to go situations.
Wicked-Three vanillas, aged patchouli, marzipan buttercream
This was my favorite scent from the Fall Collection and it makes a really cool lotion scent. It smells like delicious almond and vanilla with the patchouli keeping it from getting to sweet.
Toasted Marshmallow- Everyone’s favorite hot chocolate topping, gooey marshmallows lightly toasted over a campfire
I think this is a nice marshmallow scent, but since I already have a mini Pumpkin Butter in Ghost Puffs by Haus of Gloi, I’m probably going to pass this on. If you just can’t get enough marshmallow scents in your life, you will love this.

Shower Gel in Lolita-Â Crisp apple skins, tart peach candies, rose absolute, sugared violet
I’ve heard so many great things about this scent, but I’ve weary to try it because apple notes can often turn to cleaning product on me. However, as a shower gel scent, it just comes off as sweet apple. Nice!
The consistency of the shower gel reminds me a bit of hand soap, it’s not as thick as I’m used to, but not thin either. I used about a quarter size amount in a loofah to get the bubbly-sudsy level I approve of. The apple smell didn’t last too long after the shower, but I did feel like the shower gel got me squeaky clean as well as my current gel does, so I was pretty pleased.
The shower gels are currently unavailable at the moment, but I think they’ll be back in 2015!
Solstice Scents Whipped Soap in Owl Creek Aleworks ($9) and Full Sized Perfume in Foxcroft Fairgrounds ($15).
Solstice Scents’ Creamy Whipped Soap in Owl Creek Aleworks, ($9)-Sticky English Toffee Pudding, Blackburn’s Parlor Vanilla Ice Cream, Caramel, Toasted Coconut & Hazelnut, Sugared Pumpkin Cream Stout
This scent smells like delicious pumpkin beer and toffee pudding to me, and I love it in Whipped Soap form. This whipped soap is a bit firmer and less creamy than Haus of Gloi’s, the texture is more like butter than whipped cream. However, it’s still moisturizing, light, and smells delicious. Plus, these are usually available year round, (although they’re sold out at the moment).
Solstice Scents’ Full Size Perfume in Foxcroft Fairgrounds, ($15)-Cotton Candy, Cream Soda, Vanilla Taffy, Funnel Cakes, Powdered Sugar, Crisp Fall Air, Woodsmoke, Incense.
In my original review of the Autumn Festival Collection, I liked this scent, but I wasn’t wowed. However, as time went on, I really came to love the combination of sweet with smoky. I started to get very sad that I would run out of my sample, and when SS restocked I got my first full-size!
Overall:
I really enjoyed the indie advent calendar, unwrapping a little gift each day really seemed to create some Christmas magic and fun, even on those days when I was drowning in thesis and flu-plague. I totally plan on doing this next year!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday, stick around I’ll be finishing up the year with a few more reviews and beers!
Questions of the Day:
-Has a perfume ever snuck up as a surprise favorite?
-What’s your favorite bath product?
-Have you ever tried whipped soap?
Love,
Rebs!
