sixteen92: Winter Collection

Hey friends!

Just a heads up: I’ll be blogging through the rest of this week, but Dec. 29th-January 4th I’ll be taking a short vacation. I’m going on a trip with my family to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday, and I’m just going to enjoy some time off that week. I’ve been blogging without stopping through working full time, grad school, writing my thesis, etc. for the past 6 months and I think it will be nice not to be covered in swatches for a few days.

But I’ll be back! Because I can’t resist sharing glitter with the world.

Anyway, for today I have a review of sixteen92’s Winter Collection, one of the few indie shops still open for the holidays. (They’re all on breaks, too, which I think it totally fair since most of them are 1 or 2 people operations.)

This collection should be available until February, so there’s no rush if any of the scents sound up your alley. The Sample Pack itself for this collection was $18 for 5 2mL perfumes. sixteen92 shipped this about a week after I ordered it, and it arrived in about two days.

So let’s get to the good stuff. How do these bad boys smells?

Notoriously Morbid’s Vanishing Cabinet: December 2014

Hey friends!

I think the best part of the holidays is a lot of my friends and family come back in town. Tonight, I’m leaving the house to see a friend who’s visiting and I am very excited! Naturally, my first thought was: But how will I do my eye makeup?

Perhaps, I shall pull from my December Vanishing Cabinet from Notoriously Morbid! This subscription is about $13 a month, and comes with several eye shadows and usually a blush or lip product. Each month there is a different theme, and this month we have Merry Monsters!

Notoriously Morbid has consistently been one of my favorite subscriptions. You can check out my past reviews here, here, and here!

Now let’s find out what’s in the stocking!

I got this package after work and was too excited to wait until better lighting to open it.

Indie Advent Calendar: Day 21-Sugar&Spite’s Duran

Hey friends!

Is all your holiday shopping done? Or are you one of those people that gets an adrenaline rush from last minute shopping. I, personally avoid stores from Black Friday until New Years, unless it can be helped. Online shopping FTW.

Anyways, Mr. Danger and I got our shopping done early this year, as evidenced by this indie advent calendar. Today’s little treat is the last scent in Sugar and Spite Bathery’s Yule Collection, Doran.

More on that perfume below!

(If you’re just joining the indie advent calendar, check out its origin story here.)

Indie Advent Calendar Days 19 & 20: BPAL and Hello Waffle

Hey friends!

It’s a Double Trouble Day!

AKA I got behind on posting! It’s because I went to three Christmas parties this past week, so I’m not even mad. That is much better than being behind on posting because of thesis. (R.I.P. Thesis)

Anyway, Day 19 and Day 20 were both awesome, so let’s take a look!

Rainbow Honey Mystery Bag: December 2014

Hey friends!

I’m on vacation! Whooooooooo!

In other news, I tried to give my Postal Worker a gift card, ($15, I googled that they are able to accept this amount.) And he left it in the mailbox! Very sad that I was rejected by the postal worker.

I mean, my USPS guy is really awesome! He never delivers my packages to the wrong place or loses them or damages them. I just wanted to let him know how much I appreciate him! (He’s always delivering my something because I have a problem.)

For instance, my Rainbow Honey Mystery Bag arrived last week and he delivered it perfectly! I, however, then failed to review it until today. USPS: 1 Rebs: 0

I pay about $12 for this mini monthly bag and receive a handful of nail, skin care and beauty products. You can check out some of my past posts on Rainbow Honey here, here, and here.

But let’s check out December’s Mystery Bag!

Indie Advent Calendar: Day 17&18: Oops!

Hey friends!

Ugh. Last night, I accepted the fact that I would not be getting caught up on the blog this week. I came home late from a Christmas party, and realized I did not have enough energy to take a shower, let alone write about how wonderful some of my new perfumes smell. (I should just shower with perfumes, and save myself some time and effort.)

Alas, this weekend will be filled with blog posts. Be on the look out for Rainbow Honey, the Glamour Dolls OTM, and more indie advent calendar!

Anyway, since I missed yesterday, I decided to combine Day 17 and Day 18, which was nice little haul of Glamour Doll Eyes, BPAL, and more! Spoiler Alert: I found out some of what was in that Solstice Scents package from the other day.

So check it out!

Indie Advent Calendar: Day 16- BPAL’s Morocco

Hey friends!

I think Mr. Danger was messing with my control freak tendencies. He put two perfumes back-to-back. MUST REARRANGE. However, I’m not allowed to peek, so I will painfully accept my not perfectly ordered fate.

Today’s perfume sample, Morocco from BPAL, is very pleasant though, and a great scent for indie newbies and pros alike. So I guess it’s okay that Mr. Danger did not arrange the calendar to my perfectionist tendencies. It is not, I must go organize something.

Anyway, check out the scent for today, and if you are wondering why my husband is putting items in small boxes, read the intro post here.

Visage by Hello Waffle: December 2014

Hey friends!

Today a Solstice Scents package arrived at my house, addressed to Mr. Danger. I was very suspicious. I don’t know if this is a gift for me, or if he went shopping for himself. These are the things you ask yourself when your husband gets into indies.

Fortunately, I know the makeup purchases are still just for me. Hello Waffle’s Visage Box for December, for example, is all mine, all mine!

I was very excited about this month’s box because I really enjoyed the November Visage box, and plus I just love Hello Waffle. Her eye shadows and blushes are some of the best in the indie world right now. And I’m working on getting a doctorate in indies now, so I know. (Just kidding. that is totally a joke. I’m over higher education at the moment.)

Anyway, this subscription is closed at the moment, but there has been talk of adding more slots in future months. I pay $25 for this box, and it includes shipping, (from Canada, to my very far away state!) Each month is supposed to include everything for a complete look!

So let’s check it out!

Indie Advent Calendar Day: 15- Sugar & Spite’s Solstice Perfume

Hey friends!

I can’t believe it’s Dec. 15th already. This month/year has really flown by for me! I’m hoping to take it slower now that my semester is over and The Thesis is turned in. Really stop and smell the indie perfume oil, and that kind of thing.

Today’s Indie Advent Calendar treat is another perfume from Sugar and Spite Bathery’s Yule Collection. Quick summary from my other post: loved their Halloween perfumes, and wanted to try the Yule Collection. Fast shipping, and no problems with my order at all. (You can read about these experiences here and here, if you need some more info on this company.)

Anyway let’s check out today’s scent, Solstice!
