Happy Hour: January Favorites

Hey friends!

This post is coming out a little bit later than usual due to technical difficulties. And by technical difficulties I mean, I am sleepy. I’ve been really busy lately and it came down to “Sleep? Or blog?” Sleep:1 Blogging:140

Anyway, I’m here now with my January Favorites post! I haven’t done one of these in awhile, and this is a sad thing because I have lots of favorite things, like Oprah. Except I don’t have a sticker yet. I should work on this…

Anyway for my favorite makeup (mostly indie this month-sorry, mainstream friends!), budget buys, and beers, check out this week’s Happy Hour!

And be sure to stick around for February because I’ll be starting a new Happy Hour theme: Beers I ♡. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, because that’s the way to my heart, friends.

Black Violet Perfume Vault and Bathory: Mini Review

Hey friends!

I’ve been sitting on this review for awhile, just because I forgot part of my order and placed a second one. (I realllly wanted to try Ringmaster). But today I’m here with a little review of my first foray into Black Violet Perfume Vault and Bathory.

I’ve heard nothing but great things about Black Violet’s perfume, bath products, and customer service, so I knew sooner or later I’d be trying out the shop. It just so happened around early November she offered a special deal where if you ordered a certain amount, (I think it was $35), you also received a little Glamour Doll Eye’s goodie bag as a gift with purchase. I knew my time to try Black Violet had come.

See what I thought below!

Subscription Sunday: Notoriously Morbid’s Vanishing Cabinet: January 2015

Hey friends!

Ah, the smell of coffee and swatching in the morning. I’m definitely enjoying Subscription Weekends.

So this month’s Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet was Jem and the Hologram themed. Let me just take a second to giggle and squeal.

I'm going to get so much use out of this Jem picture.

I’m going to get so much use out of this Jem picture.

Um, I love Jem. I used to watch it CONSTANTLY on VHS from the Latest and Greatest Video Rental store, (I bet some of you don’t even know what that is. I am an internet GRANDMA.) I can basically sing the majority of the songs to you, though I don’t have the range of Jem, so it would be pretty terrible.

Mr. Danger eventually bought it for me on DVD. I may or may not have been an adult at the time. Basically, Jem is excitement. Jem is adventure. Jem is truly outrageous, people.

So I knew when Notoriously Morbid announced their Jem theme, that I would love it so hard. SO HARD.

Glamour and glitter, friends.

Happy Hour: Bath Sabbath Beard Oil and Gulden Draak

Hey friends!

It’s Friday! I made it through my first week of classes! I don’t have a lot of homework this weekend! I am eating pizza tonight! All the exclamation points!

Anyway, today’s Happy Hour is a little bit different. I really wanted to review Bath Sabbath’s Beard Oils that I got Mr. Danger for Christmas. Since, I myself don’t have a beard, I decided to let him take over this week’s Happy Hour as a special guest poster. Don’t worry, friends, he may or may not have a degree in using words. You should be in good hands.

So, if you or someone in your life would like a luxurious beard, or perhaps one of the best Belgian beers of allllllll time, stick around for Happy Hour!

(And if not, I’ll be back this weekend with a Subscription post.)

Take it away, Mr. Danger!

Solstice Scents’ Foxcroft Collection

Hey friends!

Solstice Scents just released their Woodland Collection, AKA part II of their Winter Collection, this past weekend! As I eagerly await the arrival of my goodies, I thought I would share some other Solstice Scents reviews to help bide the time.

So, as many of you know, I have the coolest mommy ever. She got me samples of the Foxcroft Collection for Christmas! Since I’ve gotten obsessed with Solstice Scents, I’ve been dying to try the Foxcroft Collection, as its the fictional town that serves as inspiration for several perfumes. Plus it’s just kinda cool. I love the story created around this town, it seems like it would be such a charming and pleasant place if it was real.

I’d probably try to get a job working at Owl Creek Aleworks.

Anyway, Foxcroft’s Autumn Collection has been one of my favorite perfume collections to date, so I was very excited to revisit Foxcroft with its original collection.

This was a gift from my mom, but the samples are listed for $14 on the website. My mom said Solstice Scents shipped quickly and arrived just as fast, which somewhat surprised her because she wasn’t so sure about the website. (She’s not used to indies yet, I’m slowly bringing her into the fold, though.) All in all, she had a good experience ordering from them, which I’ve found to be the norm for them.

Rainbow Honey Mystery Bag: January 2015

Hey friends,

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day, if you are an American! And Happy Monday, if you live somewhere else!

I finally got my wish! I get an extra 24 hours!!!!! (All I want is more time.) I’m off work today and it is beautiful. I am so productive. Which needed to happen because I may or may not have still had some Christmas decorations up.

Anyways, I also have used this weekend to get ahead with some blog posts! (Homework for grad school? Not so much. Priorities, friends, priorities.)

The weather this 3-day weekend has been so beautiful, and it matches perfectly with Rainbow Honey’s January Mystery Bag. The colors and scents of this bag all remind me that Spring is on it’s way. (At least where I live, sorry people who have snow.)

So let’s see what I got!

Spoiler Alert: This bag is see-through.

Subscription Sunday: Hello Waffle’s Visage Box-January 2015

Hey friends!

How’s your weekend going?

Mine has been super productive. And also I accidentally ate like a pound of fro-yo last night. So I would say mine has been good, too.

I think Winter is coming to an end where I live, (we only really have two seasons: Hot and Cold/Rainy, so this is not surprising). But this weekend the weather has been gorgeous, which I interpret as “TAKE ALL THE PICTURES WITH THE AMAZING LIGHTING.” Blog writing changes your brain, yo.

So I used the gorgeous weather to focus on some gorgeous makeup, Hello Waffle’s January Visage Box. Out of all my indie subscriptions, this one continues to lean towards the dreamy, whimsical, and romantic colors, which I personally love.

Check out below to see what I mean!

Subscription Saturday: Glamour Doll Eyes’ OTM- January 2015

Hey friends!

In an effort to make my life easier, I’m going to try out moving most of my makeup subscription reviews to Saturday/Sunday.

Given that I work full time (and then some), and on Mondays and Wednesdays I go to grad school until 8:30, I’m just not having a great deal of time to swatch. I think Subscription Saturday will allow me to have the quality posts I want, and not pull all of my hair out by the time I’m 30!

So today, we’re checking out the first Glamour Doll Eyes’ OTM of 2015!
