Hey friends!
Well, after a fun weekend with my best friends, it’s back to work/grad school for me.
I’ve got a super busy week coming up with lots of events and projects, so I needed a bit of sparkle this morning to put some pep in my step.
Thankfully my Wantable Accessories Box arrived last week with a few options!
Read on to see what I got this month!
The technical stuff: A Wantable Accessories subscription costs $36 a month, and subscribers receive a $4 credit. You take a fairly detailed profile quiz ranking your accessory likes and dislikes, and every month 4-5 pieces will be sent to you. Wantable also offers similar subscriptions in Makeup and Intimates, (though I’ve never tried them). I’ve been with Wantable for several months now and you can find some of my other reviews, here, here, and here.
The good stuff:The theme this month was no typical Spring pastels, but interesting pieces with soft hues that spice up your February look.
Here’s what I had on my profile this month:
And here’s my February Collection:
Brooklyn Earrings, Retail $16.
Well, let’s start with the good. I really liked these earrings, they were my favorite item in this month’s box. They are pretty, classic, and subtle and I can wear them to work or dress them up. The color is neutral so they’ll pair well with a lot of my outfits.
Bailey Bracelet, Retail Value $11.
This is a very simple gold bracelet with a classic knot clasp. I would be more into it if it fit a little better, (it’s almost too small on my wrist, despite answering on my profile that I need bigger bracelets AKA I have huge wrist bones, because I am cool). Anyway, it’s also just kinda…plain. Even for me, the lady who likes simple and classic pieces. I’m going to layer it with other items and see how that goes.
Elsa Bracelet, Retail Value $22
Oy. As much as I love glitter and sparkle, fake jewels arranged in a flower/star/whatever pattern are not my thing. I like that it looks kinda like antique jewelry, but I can’t get past those faux gems. I might see if the bestie wants this, but it is not for me.
Jacqueline Necklace, Retail Value $28
Whoa. There is rope in this necklace. And it kinds smells weird. There is also a giant black fake gem. And rope. That rope, though. This is so NOT me. I could probably get behind this necklace if the rope was gone, (maybe not though because I’m not feeling that giant gem with an antique plate on it), but this piece just baffles me. I would like to add “Rope” to my Dislikes category on my profile, just for the record.
Overall:
Well, the total retail value of this collection was $77, which is twice I paid for it, so that is a plus. However, I was a bit disappointed in the pieces I got this month. I liked the earrings, and I will definitely use the Bailey bracelet, but I really don’t like the Jacqueline necklace or Elsa bracelet.
I actually decided to skip next month’s box for a couple of reasons. One being that I am moving things around in my budget, and I would like to use the money for other things. But aside from that, despite an amazing start, my past two months of Wantable have just been so-so. I think we might need some time apart.
I am definitely not canceling my subscription, but I might take advantage of their Skip Option for a few months. We’ll see how it goes.
Questions of the Day:
-What did you think about this month’s accessories?
-Was I being too picky?
-But really, did you see that rope?
Love,
Rebs!
