So so so so sorry for the belated post!
Some of you may recall I’ve had a busy few weeks, (that I’ve been very vague about.) I’ve had a bunch of half written posts, but so many things have come up I’ve never gotten to finish them and then I become irresponsibly late on publishing them. Hey, better late than never, right? I think. Maybe.
BUT! I have a really good reason for all the lateness, that I can finally share! Because I got my Master’s in December, I’ve been able to apply for new jobs that I couldn’t do before without the higher degree. Last week, I had 5 interviews, (hence the utter exhaustion), and yesterday I was officially offered a position at what is basically my dream job. SO I HAVE BEEN CELEBRATING! WHAHOAFHODJ. (That is me dancing and shouting in excitement.)
I can’t actually share the details of what my job is, because it’s in a field that values confidentiality, but rest assured, I am so so so thrilled. And hey, perfect late timing, let me share a delicious beer and lovely makeup product with you to celebrate!
Thank you for your patience with my unpredictable posting, and enjoy this Saturday Happy Hour!
Please enjoy your beer and makeup responsibly.
Makeup Product of the Week: NYX Illuminator in Enigmatic, $9
I actually bought this NYX Illuminator to try and replace my theBalm Cindy-Lou Manizer that I broke and destroyed in the street. Cindy-Lou Manizer is usually about $20, but I had gotten it off HauteLook for $10, and I knew that deal wouldn’t come around again for awhile.
Well, Enigmatic is probably the wrong color for a Cindy-Lou dupe, but I actually really like it. It’s not as smooth as theBalm’s highlighter formula, but it’s still easily applied and nicely pigmented.
Enigmatic is a light pink with a subtle shimmer, which makes it a lovely highlight color. For a true Cindy-Lou dupe, I probably should have gone with one of the other NYX Illuminator shades, like Magnetic, but I’ve been enjoying the soft pink flush this one gives me.
And for half the price of theBalm’s highlighters, I can afford to try a few more shades of NYX’s Illuminators!
Beer of the Week: Ballast Point’s Grapefruit Sculpin IPA
Holy cannoli friends, this is the perfect warm Spring day beer. The original Sculpin is a great IPA in itself, but the addition of the tart grapefruit takes this beer to a whole new level. It’s a lovely amber gold color with the perfect amount of carbonation. It’s hoppy like most IPAs, but the citrus note gives it a fresh, tart twist. It’s a perfect blend of bitter hops and grapefruit, and it just tastes like sunshine and Spring.
Obviously, if you don’t like grapefruit, you’re not going to love this. But for everyone else, if you get a chance to scoop up some Grapefruit Sculpin, you’ve got to try it! Preferably while hanging out in a park on a sunny day.
Questions of the Day:
-How are you guys?
-Have you found any good dupes for products?
-Do you like grapefruit? I feel like it’s one of those love/hate flavors.
And yes, I will be back tomorrow for Subscription Sunday! But first, more celebrating!
