Hey Friends!
It’s the weekend! I hope you have great plans to do whatever you like to do over the next two days! I’ll be celebrating many a graduation, (including my own), and my bestie will be in town, AND for the first time in months-I have no homework! So I’m thinking it will be a good time, is what I’m saying.
For today’s Happy Hour, I’m sharing a delicious summer beer, Southern Tier’s Hop Sun Wheat Beer and my new favorite summer travel buddy, Wet N Wild’s Color Icon Blush and Glow Trio!
So let’s check it out!
Please enjoy your beer and makeup responsibly.
Makeup of the Week: Wet N Wild’s Color Icon Blush & Glow Trio in Sunset Junction, $2.99
I was so excited to see these Blush and Glow Trios in my local Walgreens because 1. I’m actually a huge Wet N’ Wild fan and 2. I’ve been waffling on getting a similar product from some more higher priced brands, (coughUrbanDecaycoughTooFacedcough. I’m sorry I have allergies.), and I have no shame in getting a more affordable product if it does the job.
Anyway, the Blush and Glow Trios come in large, round pans with pressed powder. There are three different sets in the collection, and they are limited edition.
I ended up grabbing Sunset Junction because it was the lightest of the Trios, and also the highlighter color looked like the perfect champagne color for me. Of the other sets, Fair Trade Coffee looks like it has the brightest colors, and Solar Powdered has warm, deeper colors.
These are very silky and fairly pigmented. They blended well on my skin, and as long as I used them over foundation or with a primer they lasted quite awhile on me.
Honestly, I would say the quality is not really that far off from the higher priced brands, so for 2.99, I’m totally happy with this purchase. The pressed powder and plastic compact will make it really easy to travel with this summer.
Beer of the Week: Southern Tier’s Hop Sun
There is controversy in the Danger Household over this beer because I really like it, and Mr. Danger does not. I personally love most Southern Tier beers, (they could probably sell me a beer called Southern Tier’s Trash Can Beer, and I would love it. I’m pretty loyal), so I might be a little biased, but I think this is a great warm weather beer.
This is very crisp and hoppy up front, with almost a floral note in the background. It mellows out into a more malty flavor as it heats up, but I actually feel it leans more towards IPA, rather than a true wheat beer. It’s very refreshing and smooth and I can totally see myself bringing this to cookouts or pool parties. (Just kidding, in the summer it’s so hot where I live that I basically stop going outside. But in my pretend outdoor activity world- I would drink this.)
Overall: Yes, in my part of the world Spring is basically over, and Summer is here. It won’t be long until we’re reaching 95+ temps and I need to be ready with delicious beers and makeup.
I hope you guys have a fabulous weekend and I will be back with Subscription Saturday and Sunday!
Questions of the Day:
-Have you tried the Wet N Wild Blush and Glow Trio?
-What’s your favorite Summer beer?
-Is it still Spring where you live? If so, please don’t tell me because I am horribly jealous.
Love,
Rebs!
