Happy Hour: July Favorites!

Hey friends!

It’s the FINAL COUNTDOWN! I have exactly:
-1 Final
-1 Presentation
-1 Day of Internship and
-2 Class Sessions

AND THEN I AM DONE WITH GRAD SCHOOL FOREVER AND EVER!!!! (And it will be forever, because if I ever go back to higher education it will be for a PhD. I’m not doing this Master’s level BS again. NOPE.)

Anyway, my joy is palpable over here. I’ve been expressing it by resuming a normal sleep schedule and starting to exercise again. I even went to this place called a park, which is apparently an outside area where people who aren’t in grad school go, and I went for a run. It was pretty exciting stuff.

I also decided to write a July Favorites post. I haven’t written in a Favorites post in a while, or any post for that matter, so I figured it might be interesting to share what makeup I’ve used this past month as I fought through my last month of grad school.

ENJOY!

Native War Paints: Monthly Subscription-July 2015

Hey friends!

How’s it going? I’m out of town this weekend celebrating a milestone birthday for Mr. Danger, (I won’t say how old, he’ll be mad. But it rhymes with dirty.) Anyway, I wanted to leave you guys with a Nail Polish Subscription Face-Off this weekend!

No. Not that Face Off. I give up. The caffeine has gone straight to my head.

Any chance to use this picture.

I’m cutting down on subscriptions lately to save some cash, and I decided I had to choose between either Rainbow Honey’s Mystery Bag or Native War Paint’s very new monthly subscription. I mean, I only have 10 fingernails, (20 if you count my toes), there’s only so much polish I can use at any given time.

So for today, let us examine Native War Paints. Tomorrow we will look at Rainbow Honey. And then a decision will be made……!

So check it out!

Black Violet’s Aromatic Blackbox Quarterly Subscription

Hey friends!

Remember how I’m behind in my posts? Well, here’s another one for you that I’m finally getting around to posting about, Black Violet’s Black Box Subscription. I apologize for the delay, but I had to take 3 baths to do a full review of this, and that can be time consuming!

Anyway, I am here today with my thoughts on the second installment in this new quarterly subscription, so let’s check it out!

Happy Hour: No Label’s Forbidden Lavender Wit and Wet ‘N Wild’s Petal Pusher Palette

Hey friends!

How’s your week?

I’ve been having so much fun doing the #yogaandbeer challenge on Instagram. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you can find me @beautyonabeerbudget, showcasing beers and myself awkwardly doing yoga poses! (Which big surprise, has also helped me feel a lot more mentally sane this week. Who knew yoga was calming?!)

And if you’re new to the blog because of the challenge-heyoo! Welcome! Happy Hour is my Friday feature where I share my favorite beers and budget makeup of the week. Because beer and makeup go together. They do. Trust me.

Anyway, I’m so excited about Happy Hour this week because it showcases two of my favorite things: purple and lavender. YES. These are my favorite colors/scents and they translate very well into beer and makeup. So today I have No Label’s Forbidden Lavender Wit and Wet N Wild’s Petal Pusher Palette.

Subscription: Hello Waffle’s Visage Box- June 2015

Hey friends!

How’s your Saturday?

I’m working on a paper right now, but I knew I had to get this post up. I’ve seriously been finishing it for about two weeks, and for various reasons it never got completed. BUT. I do not give up! So here I am today with a very belated review of Hello Waffle’s June Visage Box. Better late than never. Sure!

The difficulty of getting this post finished made me reflect on the way I’ve been writing some of these reviews, and I may be changing the way I do them soon. I’m open to your thoughts, so more musings on this near the end of the post.

But for now: makeup!

Happy Hour: Maybelline MasterConceal and Ballast Point’s Habanero Sculpin

Hey friends!

I’m back! Sorry for the random absence, I went out of town and then things were just bananas. I got back Tuesday and I still haven’t unpacked my suitcase.

But in good news, I’m in the final stretch of the danger zone! I have about 20 days of grad school and internship left and then I am done!!! Like for real done. No more grad school done. No more tuition and text books done. DONZO.

It’s going to be so beautiful.

To celebrate, let’s enjoy this very random pairing for Happy Hour: Maybelline’s Master Conceal, an essential basic you need in your makeup collection, and Ballast Point’s Habanero Sculpin, a spicy, novelty beer that you also probably need in your beer tasting collection.
