Rainbow Honey Mystery Bag: January 2015

Hey friends,

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day, if you are an American! And Happy Monday, if you live somewhere else!

I finally got my wish! I get an extra 24 hours!!!!! (All I want is more time.) I’m off work today and it is beautiful. I am so productive. Which needed to happen because I may or may not have still had some Christmas decorations up.

Anyways, I also have used this weekend to get ahead with some blog posts! (Homework for grad school? Not so much. Priorities, friends, priorities.)

The weather this 3-day weekend has been so beautiful, and it matches perfectly with Rainbow Honey’s January Mystery Bag. The colors and scents of this bag all remind me that Spring is on it’s way. (At least where I live, sorry people who have snow.)

So let’s see what I got!

Spoiler Alert: This bag is see-through.

Subscription Sunday: Hello Waffle’s Visage Box-January 2015

Hey friends!

How’s your weekend going?

Mine has been super productive. And also I accidentally ate like a pound of fro-yo last night. So I would say mine has been good, too.

I think Winter is coming to an end where I live, (we only really have two seasons: Hot and Cold/Rainy, so this is not surprising). But this weekend the weather has been gorgeous, which I interpret as “TAKE ALL THE PICTURES WITH THE AMAZING LIGHTING.” Blog writing changes your brain, yo.

So I used the gorgeous weather to focus on some gorgeous makeup, Hello Waffle’s January Visage Box. Out of all my indie subscriptions, this one continues to lean towards the dreamy, whimsical, and romantic colors, which I personally love.

Check out below to see what I mean!

Wantable Accessories Box: January 2015

Hey friends!

How was your weekend? It was very cold and rainy where I live, (this is not the norm), and it reduced my productivity by 87%. My laying in blankets rate increased by 65% though. I don’t know how you guys who live in parts of the world with snow do it. I would build a blanket cocoon and never come out. I applaud you many brave souls.

Anyways, I start class tonight, so I needed something sparkly and lovely in my life. Enter my January Wantable box! The whole theme of the month was pairing statement pieces with cozy outfits, which I was totally behind. I would accessorize my pajamas in a heart beat!

If you are new to Wantable, I have the Accessories subscription, which is $36 a month. You take a preference test and a stylist sends you pieces based on your selection, though you can also write in requests. Check out some of my other reviews, here, here, and here.

So let’s see what I got in my box this month!

New Indie Subscription: Aromaleigh’s Ephemera Box-January 2015

Hey friends!

Oy, I tried to schedule this post for Sunday, but then I forgot what numbers and calendars were, so some of you got a sneak peak yesterday! Sorry for any confusion. Anyways, we’ve got some good stuff to talk about today, so hopefully my understanding of letters and words won’t also fail me!

So, I’ve been avoiding Aromaleigh for awhile now. But for opposite reasons than you might think. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about this indie makeup company, (one of the originals, she’s been making pretties since 1998!), and every time I’ve perused the website, I’ve started drooling and twitching with joy. However, given that I was also trying to stick to some semblance of a budget, I’ve been trying not to gaze too much for too long. Seriously, just go look at the website. It’s not the kind of place you’re going to be able to order, “just a few things” from. You will want it all.

When I heard Aromaleigh would be offering a subscription, I thought it might be a great way for me to slowly get introduced to her products. Then when I placed my haul-order, I would have some idea of things I liked and didn’t like. Also it was about $18 with shipping, and she has really, pretty shimmery stuff, and when have I ever said no to sparkle?

I was lucky enough to be “multi-tasking” in a meeting when the box went live, and after a pretty intense breaking of the internet, I scored one!

You guys are going to want one, too. I’m just warning you. Check it out below!

Notoriously Morbid’s Vanishing Cabinet: December 2014

Hey friends!

I think the best part of the holidays is a lot of my friends and family come back in town. Tonight, I’m leaving the house to see a friend who’s visiting and I am very excited! Naturally, my first thought was: But how will I do my eye makeup?

Perhaps, I shall pull from my December Vanishing Cabinet from Notoriously Morbid! This subscription is about $13 a month, and comes with several eye shadows and usually a blush or lip product. Each month there is a different theme, and this month we have Merry Monsters!

Notoriously Morbid has consistently been one of my favorite subscriptions. You can check out my past reviews here, here, and here!

Now let’s find out what’s in the stocking!

Rainbow Honey Mystery Bag: December 2014

Hey friends!

I’m on vacation! Whooooooooo!

In other news, I tried to give my Postal Worker a gift card, ($15, I googled that they are able to accept this amount.) And he left it in the mailbox! Very sad that I was rejected by the postal worker.

I mean, my USPS guy is really awesome! He never delivers my packages to the wrong place or loses them or damages them. I just wanted to let him know how much I appreciate him! (He’s always delivering my something because I have a problem.)

For instance, my Rainbow Honey Mystery Bag arrived last week and he delivered it perfectly! I, however, then failed to review it until today. USPS: 1 Rebs: 0

I pay about $12 for this mini monthly bag and receive a handful of nail, skin care and beauty products. You can check out some of my past posts on Rainbow Honey here, here, and here.

But let’s check out December’s Mystery Bag!

Visage by Hello Waffle: December 2014

Hey friends!

Today a Solstice Scents package arrived at my house, addressed to Mr. Danger. I was very suspicious. I don’t know if this is a gift for me, or if he went shopping for himself. These are the things you ask yourself when your husband gets into indies.

Fortunately, I know the makeup purchases are still just for me. Hello Waffle’s Visage Box for December, for example, is all mine, all mine!

I was very excited about this month’s box because I really enjoyed the November Visage box, and plus I just love Hello Waffle. Her eye shadows and blushes are some of the best in the indie world right now. And I’m working on getting a doctorate in indies now, so I know. (Just kidding. that is totally a joke. I’m over higher education at the moment.)

Anyway, this subscription is closed at the moment, but there has been talk of adding more slots in future months. I pay $25 for this box, and it includes shipping, (from Canada, to my very far away state!) Each month is supposed to include everything for a complete look!

So let’s check it out!

Notoriously Morbid’s Vanishing Cabinet: November 2014

Hey friends!

Two posts in one day!? My, I am behind on posting and desperately trying to catch up industrious and productive!

I’ve got a new feature I’m trying out tomorrow, so I was trying to get all my subscription reviews for the month taken care of. Let me tell you, my arms were looking pretty glittery after all those swatches.

Anyway, I always seem to get Notoriously Morbid’s Vanishing Cabinet later in the month and I have to make myself not peak at other people’s reviews, because I like the surprise. However, every month it seems it’s completely worth the wait, because I’ve been super pleased with every VC I’ve gotten from them.

The Vanishing Cabinet costs about $13 a month, and it is a reoccurring subscription. Unfortunately, at this time there is a wait list. However, I believe the Notoriously Morbid owners are going to be opening more spots next month. These ladies have a good thing going on, so I’m not at all surprised by the popularity the Vanishing Cabinet has gained. They usually do have overstocks of some of their VC eye shadows for sale on their website, if you really need to get your hands on a shade.

This month the theme was DeadLove, based on the Sookie Stackhouse books. (Not the show, bless those NM ladies.) I happened to start reading these books when I was but a young, nerdy girl of 15, and they hold a special place in my heart making this months’ VC even more fun.

If you’re curious what kind of items come each month or you just want to drool over some shimmery, gorgeous eye shadow, OR you want to know my opinions on Sookie’s boyfriends, look no further!

Why yes, that is my 2001 copy of the first Sookie book. I'm a nerd, friends.

Glamour Doll Eyes: November OTM

Hey friends!

Well, I managed to get a Glamour Doll Eyes’ OTM box this month! It was an exciting day for me as these $8 subscriptions go like hot cakes each month. They’re usually released when I’m at work with the slowest internet connection known to man, (like really, really, really slow. I think I could actually hear the internet wheezing in pain), so it’s not everyday I succeed in this endeavor.

And I’m glad I did, because I adored this month’s OTM!

If you’re new to Glamour Doll Eyes their Color of the Month subscription is not necessarily reoccurring, but sold by the month. For example there were 12 month, 6 month, and 3 month subscriptions. At this point in the year there are only 1 month and 2 months, left. My internet only allowed me to get the 1 month, which means I’ll have to battle again in December if I want the OTM then. It’s intense, but worth it!

Check out what I got and maybe you’ll be battling, too:

Rainbow Honey Mystery Bag: November 2014

Hey friends!

I got my Rainbow Honey bag in last week and I’ve been testing it out for awhile now, really researching the products and all. (AKA not finding time to write this review, oops).

For those of you who are new to Rainbow Honey, they’re a nail polish company that offers a monthly mystery bag filled with goodies. There’s a full size and mini size, which I get for about $13. It usually proves to be a great deal for the money as I get a lot of good nail products for cheaper than I would have paid in the store. Plus there’s almost always glitter.

This month they had a theme of taking care of your skin in the winter time, which I think most people can appreciate. It’s unseasonably cold where I live and my body is falling apart, so this bag has been pretty timely for me.

So check out what I got this month:

I think I’m digging the new wrapping, it does look a bit sleeker.
