I’m about a week behind in my posts, but I have a really good reason! I’m participating in NaNoWriMo this year! I haven’t the past few years due to writing my thesis, but this year it’s on! (And if you aren’t sure what NaNoWriMo is, check it out here!)
That does mean my blog posting is even slower than usual, but I’ll try to get some in here and there. Such as this very belated Day of the Dead post, which was supposed to come out last Sunday-but here we are!
So let’s pretend it’s last Sunday, November 1, so we can enjoy this Immortal Beloved Hefeweizen from Los Muertos Brewing and Bite Beauty’s Best Bite Rewind Matte Lip Color Set, a holiday exclusive!
How’s your week treating you? I haven’t gotten to do an EOTD/ BOTD post in awhile because I’ve been choosing sleep over makeup. You probably would to if 5am was your wake up call. I’ve also been living out of pressed palettes because of the ease of application, so I haven’t really been doing anything exciting with my makeup.
Except on the weekends, when I bust out all my indies and pigments and bold lip colors and go bananas! This past weekend, I finally sat down with my Hello Waffle September Visage Box and pulled together a totally appropriate work look for Fall, using all the warm colors in this lovely box.
And I had to pair this Fall look with a Fall beer. (Because pairing beer and makeup is normal in my world). So I cracked open my Rogue Pumpkin Patch Ale for a delighful fall inspired combo!
Happy Sunday! It’s been a rainy, dreary weekend over here which means I finally sat down and banged out some blog posts! We are talking posts that are done, scheduled and ready for your enjoyment. Which means, I’ll have more than one post this week! What. I know. It’s pretty shocking.
As for the beer, I bring you a deep, dark Pumpkin stout, Wasatch’s Black O’Lantern. It’s that time of year for dark beers. And dark lips. Seriously, forget Pumpkin Spice, Fall makeup and beer is where it’s at.
How was your weekend? I attended a brunch and for the first time in years, actually baked a dish instead of grabbing something from the store! Oh the wonders of life post grad school!
Naturally, no brunch is complete without a little booze, and while I do enjoy the traditional mimosa, today’s Happy Hour beer, Alltech’s Lexington Brewing Company’s Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Pumpkin Ale matched up perfectly with the Pumpkin Cream Cheese French Toast Bake I made. (I’ll share the link to that recipe with you guys at the end of this post-if you are interested!)
On the makeup side of things, I continue my trend of being super lazy and buying convenience products with Maybelline’s Baby Skin Instant Cheek Flush Blush.
How have you been? I got attacked by a stomach virus that took a week to recover from. It was pretty gross.
Anyway, I finally started to feel better this weekend and got to work on putting together a new Sunday Funday Happy Hour! Today I’m sharing probably one of the most delicious takes on pumpkin beer, Point Brewery’s Whole Hog Pumpkin Ale and some of the new Fall 5 pan palettes from Wet N’ Wild.
So apparently I started this post a long time ago, and then completely forgot to finish it when my internship and new job started. Which means this post is unfortunately out of season, but hey- it’s still 100 degrees where I live,so I think I’ll cut myself some slack.
Anyway for my first EOTD/BOTD in a lonnngggg time, I have a very summery Kona Brewing Company’s Big Wave and a super easy look using ColourPop’s Metamorphosis Set.
How’s your Sunday? I had big plans to wrap up my Oktoberfest month by actually attending an Oktoberfest, but then I decided it was probably better for me to sleep and relax for once in my life. Since I feel like a person again, I do not regret this decision.
So despite my lack of German celebrating, I bring you my final installment in Oktoberfest beers, straight from the OG of Texas Craft Breweries itself, Shiner or Spotezel Brewery’s Oktoberfest. I’m pairing it with ColourPop’s new Fall Blushes, because it’s basically Fall. Even if it’s 90 degrees outside.
Happy Sunday! I’m winding down a great weekend with the last post in my August series of Worth It Makeup Splurges. Today I’ve got my favorite expensive mascara, Too Faced’s Better Than Sex and a much cheaper, but still awesome version of Maybelline’s Lash Sensational Mascara.
And on the beer front we’re winding down summer with a blackberry sour beer, Odell’s Bromebeer Blackberry Gose. It’s a great transition from late summer to the beginning of fall.
How was your weekend? I’m gearing up for another busy, (but awesome), week at the new job!
I’ve got two more summer beers to share before I start to move into cooler, fall weather beers and makeup. So for today’s Sunday Funday Happy Hour, we’re checking out Great Juju by Left Hand Brewing Company! On the makeup end I’ve got my all-time favorite primer, Urban Decay’s Primer Potion-plus it’s much cheaper dupe, NYX’s HD Primer!
This Happy Hour is particularly exciting because I am done with grad school! FOREVER. I feel like everyone needs to stop, drop, and celebrate. Where ever you are, whatever you are doing-I invited you to join the post-grad school celebration!
And on that note, I have a really great drinkable summer beer to share with you, Breckenridge’s Agave Wheat Ale. I also am doing a mini-theme for Happy Hour this month: Favorite Splurge Products! Although I’m totally frugal cheap, even I have to agree that there are some products that simply can’t be dupped. So this month I’ll be sharing my favorite beauty and makeup products that I think are worth it, starting with Benefit’s Gimme Brow! I’m also going to include a cheaper dupe version if you aren’t feeling my high priced option.I try to be here for you.
