EOTD/BOTD: Game of Thrones Inspired

Hey friends!

Happy Wednesday!

I think I’ve mentioned several times that I’m a Game of Thrones fan. I’ve read the books, I drink the beer, and I watch the show, (through my fingers because I can’t handle gore). In honor of the new season premiering this Sunday, I thought today would be a great time to go with a gratuitously themed EOTD/BOTD post.

I’ve got not one, but TWO, EOTDs using shades from Notoriously Morbid’s Game of Thrones Vanishing Cabinets. And the Valar Morguhlis Dubbel Ale from Ommegang Brewery! It doesn’t get any more themed than that.

So.

EOTD is coming.

Happy Hour: March Favorites!

Hey friends!

It’s weird how March was only 12 days long this year. If you tried to convince me there were 30 days this past month, I would probably shake my head sadly for you, because it just didn’t happen. At least that’s how it felt to me.

It was hard to pick out favorite things since this month was only 12 days long, but I managed to create a March Favorites post because I have a duty to my readers. Also because there were a lot of pretty things and good smelling things this month.

So check out what made the favorites cut for the shortest month of the year!

Subscription Sunday: Notoriously Morbid’s Vanishing Cabinet

Hey friends!

How’s your weekend going? The weather where I live has been gorgeous, so I’ve been ignoring my responsibilities working outside on my exams and papers. Because summer is coming. And it will be 103589 degrees in about a month, so I have to enjoy this beautiful-ness now.

I did take a study break to swatch my most recent Vanishing Cabinet by Notoriously Morbid, though! The theme was Game of Thrones, and I can never resist that hook.

So check out what I got!

Subscription Sunday: Notoriously Morbid’s Vanishing Cabinet-February 2015

Hey friends!

I’ve got one grad school project done, only 3493498 more to go!

I’m taking a quick break from projects to share my review of Notoriously Morbid’s February 2015 Vanishing Cabinet! The theme this month was All The Men I Can’t Have: British Edition, and I can use some pretty right about now!

Subscription Sunday: Notoriously Morbid’s Vanishing Cabinet: January 2015

Hey friends!

Ah, the smell of coffee and swatching in the morning. I’m definitely enjoying Subscription Weekends.

So this month’s Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet was Jem and the Hologram themed. Let me just take a second to giggle and squeal.

I'm going to get so much use out of this Jem picture.

I’m going to get so much use out of this Jem picture.

Um, I love Jem. I used to watch it CONSTANTLY on VHS from the Latest and Greatest Video Rental store, (I bet some of you don’t even know what that is. I am an internet GRANDMA.) I can basically sing the majority of the songs to you, though I don’t have the range of Jem, so it would be pretty terrible.

Mr. Danger eventually bought it for me on DVD. I may or may not have been an adult at the time. Basically, Jem is excitement. Jem is adventure. Jem is truly outrageous, people.

So I knew when Notoriously Morbid announced their Jem theme, that I would love it so hard. SO HARD.

Glamour and glitter, friends.

Notoriously Morbid’s Vanishing Cabinet: December 2014

Hey friends!

I think the best part of the holidays is a lot of my friends and family come back in town. Tonight, I’m leaving the house to see a friend who’s visiting and I am very excited! Naturally, my first thought was: But how will I do my eye makeup?

Perhaps, I shall pull from my December Vanishing Cabinet from Notoriously Morbid! This subscription is about $13 a month, and comes with several eye shadows and usually a blush or lip product. Each month there is a different theme, and this month we have Merry Monsters!

Notoriously Morbid has consistently been one of my favorite subscriptions. You can check out my past reviews here, here, and here!

Now let’s find out what’s in the stocking!

I got this package after work and was too excited to wait until better lighting to open it.

Notoriously Morbid’s Vanishing Cabinet: November 2014

Hey friends!

Two posts in one day!? My, I am behind on posting and desperately trying to catch up industrious and productive!

I’ve got a new feature I’m trying out tomorrow, so I was trying to get all my subscription reviews for the month taken care of. Let me tell you, my arms were looking pretty glittery after all those swatches.

Anyway, I always seem to get Notoriously Morbid’s Vanishing Cabinet later in the month and I have to make myself not peak at other people’s reviews, because I like the surprise. However, every month it seems it’s completely worth the wait, because I’ve been super pleased with every VC I’ve gotten from them.

The Vanishing Cabinet costs about $13 a month, and it is a reoccurring subscription. Unfortunately, at this time there is a wait list. However, I believe the Notoriously Morbid owners are going to be opening more spots next month. These ladies have a good thing going on, so I’m not at all surprised by the popularity the Vanishing Cabinet has gained. They usually do have overstocks of some of their VC eye shadows for sale on their website, if you really need to get your hands on a shade.

This month the theme was DeadLove, based on the Sookie Stackhouse books. (Not the show, bless those NM ladies.) I happened to start reading these books when I was but a young, nerdy girl of 15, and they hold a special place in my heart making this months’ VC even more fun.

If you’re curious what kind of items come each month or you just want to drool over some shimmery, gorgeous eye shadow, OR you want to know my opinions on Sookie’s boyfriends, look no further!

Why yes, that is my 2001 copy of the first Sookie book. I'm a nerd, friends.

Notoriously Morbid’s Vanishing Cabinet: October 2014

Hey friends!

Just in time for Halloween, my Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet showed up last week! I was already impressed with their September subscription, (which you can check out here), and I just keep getting more pleased with this subscription.

First of all, these eye shadows are amazing and so are the extra lip products that seem to be included in each subscription. Second, there’s a theme each month-and I love me a good theme. Third, it’s $12.90 a month, which is not bad for all the product you get!

There is a wait list at this moment for the subscription, but I would follow Notoriously Morbid on Facebook for more info on any openings.

Anyway, if you’re interested in what comes in one of these little dudes, check out this month’s Walking Dead themed bag!

I've been waiting for a chance to use that font.

Notoriously Morbid Subscription: September 2014

Hey friends!

In a rush to beat the end of September clock, I have one last subscription to share with you before it becomes October! (I am a weirdo very strict observer of dates and I have this compulsion to review things during the actual month I received them in, so enjoy!)

Notoriously Morbid’s Vanishing Cabinet is another first time subscription for me on my quest to own all of the indies, and again I was very pleased!

I don’t really consider myself to be notoriously morbid. Maybe notoriously ridiculous or notoriously silly, if anything. But despite the fact that I’m probably not the demographic this theme resonates with, I really enjoyed all of these products! For about $13 a month you get lovely eye shadow, lip products, and maybe even a Tim Curry theme, if you are good!

So check out what I got!
