Wet N Wild Color Icon Trios: Part II- Trios With an Edge

Hello Beauties!

Today I’m continuing my journey of Wet N Wild Color Icon Trios. In the first post, we looked at the more conservative shades, and today I’m walking on the wet and wild side with these colors.

Spoiled Brat, Don't Steal my Thunder, and I'm Getting Sunburned

I tried to work these trios into something I could wear daily while still following the little labels on the eyeshadows, but some of them are not really my style. Maybe you more adventurous people might have some tips on how to make them work? (HELP?)

I’m starting out with the trio that challenged me the most, Spoiled Brat.

I am both intrigued and terrified by that pink eyeshadow.

Pigmentation is good, I had some fall out with the crease color.

I have no idea what to do with pink eyeshadow other than look like Jem from Jem and the Holograms. It took all my will power not to draw a pink star on my eye.

Jem also loves pink eyeshadow.

I refrained. Anyway, the pigment is great on this palette, but I had a really hard time blending it into anything I liked. I’m sure a more skilled lady could have worked this, but that lady is not

me.

Points for trying?

Sigh.

I also have mixed feelings on Don’t Steal My Thunder.

Again, pretty pigmented.

Again, pretty pigmented.

The sparkly black crease color and silver eyelid color is almost the exact same as Spoiled Brat. So, if you’re torn between the two and don’t love pink eyeshadow, this trio is the way to go.

Don't Steal My Thunder

I had some fall out again with the crease color, but a much easier time blending with this trio. However, just personal preference, that silver eyeshadow is not my favorite color for my brown eyes. When I’m going for a smoky or glam look, I prefer matte shades. Just personal preference.

Finally, my favorite of the edgier trios, I’m Getting Sunburned.

Really nice pigmentation on the colors, even the pink.

I actually think if I apply the dark color to my outer V, instead of the crease (Ok, I cheated on this one, but pink eyeshadow on my brow bone looked clownish) I have a pretty wearable look.

Gold on the eyelid, pink in the crease, dark brown on the outer V and lower lashline

I couldn't get the pink to show up in my lighting, but it's not super subtle.

So, after cleaning out my local Target, I feel like I came up with a sufficient amount of looks. These edgier ones don’t work in my everyday life, but the eyeshadows are so pigmented, I could definitely use them in other looks.

On Friday, we’ll explore the 8 pan palettes!

Question/s of the Day:

-Have you ever worn eye shadow that made you feel like an 80’s cartoon character? Which one?
-Are you into edgier looks or neutrals?

Love!
