Hello Beauties! I’ve mentioned several times that I love small sizes of makeup and beauty supplies, because it’s a great way to try new products and expensive brands without the price. I’ve been subscribed to Ipsy for a few months now, and they’re right up my alley. At $10 a bag with 4-5 samples, this monthly beauty subscription is definitely fits in my beer budget. (And I even have money left over for actual beer, it’s a win-win situation.)
July’s bag was probably my favorite so far this year. It was a delightful pink bag full of joy. And makeup. So what did I get?
The tanning oil was the one product I was disappointed by, but I feel like that’s the risk you take with any beauty subscription. I’m sure this is a lovely product, but I just don’t use tanning oil. I’m an old woman in a 20somethings body, and I am all about the SPF 55, thank you very much.
I DID like the Beach Spray because it’s perfect for the Lazy Woman’s summer routine. You spray it in your hair, scrunch it around and when it dries-voila! You look like a mermaid.( If your goal is not to look like a mermaid, you need to examine your life priorities.) Granted this is something I wouldn’t be able to use during the academic year, but for summer it’s great.
The bright pink scalloped bag Ipsy sent this month is not my favorite design-wise, but I think the material is good for everyday use. As in, I’m traveling right now and used the pink bag to hold my razor. It worked great. Just FYI, if you want a razor bag.
So the BareMinerals, to be honest, I was hoping for the powder eyeshadow. My eye lids are both oily and wrinkly (the fact that I’ve thought this much about my eye lids might be a bit sad) and cream eyeshadows always look weird and crepey on them. But this BareMinerals 5-in-1 is basically a tattoo. This shit is not coming off you without makeup remover. I would say you have about 30 seconds to commit to your eyeshadow look before it’s stuck on you until your 80. Therefore, it’s not the most forgiving eyeshadow in terms of blending and creating a look, but the color stays on FOREVER. And I do happen to like the color. It could be great for the days I have 12 hours of work and class?
The Pixi Lip Balm is pretty nice too. It’s lightweight and feels moisturizing on my lips that are always dry from wearing 679 lip products a day. The only sad part was I got the color, Pretty Pink. No fault of Pixi’s or Ipsy’s, but light pink products DO NOT show up on my lips at all. I just look like a lady with greasy lips or a zombie, if the product is super pink. That being said, I would probably consider the Lip Balm in other colors, because I am a sucker for lip balm, and this one seems good.
Finally, I saved my favorite for last. I love this bronzer by Pop. It’s a lovely color, blended well, and lasted all night (even when I ran through the rain). I also believe this is a full size product, so you can bet I’m doing a happy dance.
All in all there was only 1 product in this bag that I really couldn’t use. I will most likely find the Pixi Lip Balm a good home with my bestie, because it suits her coloring better. BUT the rest of the stuff I’m keeping!

Question/s of the Day:
-What did you get in your Ipsy Bag?
-Have you ever had an eyeshadow product that tattooed itself on you?
-Do you plan to look like a mermaid this summer?
Love!
