Heyyyy Beauties!
It’s Friday! Throw your confetti in the air and do a dance! To get your weekend started off right, I’ve moved my weekly Happy Hour series to Fridays.
I’m not letting summer go just yet, so today’s post features a fantastic summery beer and a bronzer, if you are also in denial like me.
So what are you waiting for? Put on your party pants and read on!
Disclaimer: You better be 21 and up if you are reading the beer portion of this post, and please enjoy your booze and makeup, responsibly.
Makeup Product of the Week: Wet N’ Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Ticket to Brazil
I mentioned in my July Favorites, that I’ve been using a sample size of Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer this summer. But I have no plans to buy the full size product for $30. Bronzer is just not that high on my makeup priorities.
So I began the hunt for a good drugstore bronzer, and I’ve really been loving Wet n’ Wild’s Color Icon Bronzer in Ticket to Brazil ($4).
This bronzer is a light bronze shade on me, and since I have a lot of warm tones in my face, it blends well. If you have fairer skin or are cool toned I would suggest the shade Reserve your Cabana, instead.
It claims to have SPF 15 in it, but this is pretty useless to me. My last concern in the beauty world is if the small amount of bronzer I use has SPF 15 in it. SPF 55? Now we’re talking.
Regardless of SPF claims, I’m glad I was able to find an affordable way to cling to summer. Maybe I’ll keep bronzng into the school year. My professors might be impressed with my delightful glow.
Beer of the Week: Deschutes’ Twilight Summer Ale

My husband told me I was not allowed to pick his flower beds for this post. Which is why I’m using the same 2 flowers in every picture. He’ll never notice!
Part of my hysteria of clinging to summer comes from the fact that I had to attend a Back to Grad School Orientation this past weekend. The directors basically tol ud, “Abandon all hope ye who enter here.”
So. I’m enjoying my last week of sweet freedom, and this Deschutes’ beer is absolutely perfect for a manic grad student who doesn’t want fall to start. And anyone else who enjoys ales.
I’m no stranger to Deschutes, we’re old pals. They are a fantastic brewery in Oregon and you can always count on their beers to have a interesting, delicious tasting profile. In fact, their Chainbreaker White IPA is one of my all time favorite, holy grails of summer beer.
However, the Twilight Summer Ale is a new beer to me, and I knew I had to give it a try. This is apparently one of their seasonal brews that only runs from May- September. It’s an American Blonde Ale with a 5.0% ABV, so it’s perfect for enjoying on a late summer evening.
This beer is mildly hoppy with notes of citrus and a light earthy aftertaste. It’s not overpowered by the wheaty malt body, which has a bit of a honey malt taste. This beer would go well with mild, savory foods. And to be honest, I think this is a great Burger and Fries kinda beer.
Perfect makeup and beer for a fun summer weekend! Or hanging out in your front yard and taking pictures of beer! Whatever floats your boat, no judgement!
Questions of the Day:
-Are you in denial about summer being over, or are you on a yearly schedule where you could care less?
-Do you use bronzer? Are you more of an all over glow kind of lady, or do you use it for contouring?
-Are you excited about any fall beauty collections, or are you desperately holding on to summer trends?
Have a great weekend, guys! I’ll be back Monday with more reviews, cheap tricks, and budget tips!
Love,
Rebs!
I’m not even a beer drinker, but that photo makes me happy! Hooray for summer!
Yay! Enjoy your weekend and the rest of the summer! Whoo!
