Hey friends!
I don’t know about you guys, but this week was even more bananas for me than usual. I mean I had to write this in my calendar so I wouldn’t forget my plans for tonight.
Anyway, by the time this post goes live, I should be in my pajamas, drinking a beer living up my Friday.
Speaking of things that are exciting. I had been hunting down the Wet N’ Wild Limited Edition Fall Matte Lipsticks, and I found them in a random Fergie display at my local Walgreens! I know I mentioned two of them in my Fall Trends post, but I would be remiss if I didn’t share more of the Wet N’ Wild Fall lipsticks. Because if you hadn’t heard, they are the bomb.com. Yes. I went there.
I also have the perfect seasonal beer for you. I’ve heard this rumor that in some parts of the country it’s actually feeling cooler? Since it’s still 358598 degrees where I live, I’m sticking with my Back to School Happy Hour theme for one more week. Maybe I will feel more fallish when I can actually walk into work without breaking a sweat.
Anyway let’s kick off Happy Hour!
Makeup Product of the Week: Wet N’ Wild Limited Edition Fall Matte Lipsticks
I love matte lipsticks this time of year, so I was super excited to hear about these $2 limited editions to the Wet N’ Wild line.
The colors are all very pigmented and have a great lasting time. On the darker shades, there is even a bit of stain that stays behind. They are also very lightweight, so I don’t have any problems with drying, which is great with matte lipsticks.
My only complaint with these lipsticks is I have to make sure I exfoliate before hand. I don’t know if my lips are evil or not, but I just feel like the lipsticks don’t apply all that smoothly on me.
However, for $2, I can overlook that.
Beer of the Week: Southern Tier’s Harvest Ale
First of all, Southern Tier is one of my favorite breweries of all time. In fact, they make my favorite beer of all time, (which will be in a Happy Hour soon, but it’s just not the right season yet.)
I already love many of their seasonal editions, so when I saw this Harvest Ale at my local grocery store, I lunged for it with the speed of a beer-obsessed cheetah. (That metaphor makes no sense, but we’re rolling with it. It’s Friday.)
And I really enjoyed it! The Harvest Ale is an Extra Strong Bitter Ale with a 6.7% ABV. Despite being a fall seasonal beer, there aren’t really any spicy or pumpkin-y notes. That’s fine with me, because the overall taste is still very pleasant. Mainly I picked up on its malty flavor, and you can really taste the hops, as well.
I have to say, I don’t know if I would recommend this beer to beginners. As the style suggests, it is a beer with a strong flavor, (although I didn’t necessarily find it bitter.) However, I think if you paired this with an equally flavorful dish, such as spicy foods or a bold cheese, it might balance out the flavors.
And if you are not a beginner, do yourself a favor and check out this beer. I think it will be perfect for enjoying with sweaters and cooler weather on a porch. (LOL, if I put a sweater on right now, I might die of heatstroke, but I’m pretending for those of you in the rest of the country).
And I just found out there’s a line of Limited Edition Halloween lipsticks by Wet N’ Wild. So I think I know what I’ll be doing Saturday.
That’s it for this week! I’m going to get my pajama party started! Have a great weekend!
Questions of the Day:
-Have you tried the Wet N’ Wild Fall Lipsticks? Or do you already have a favorite fall color?
-How’s the weather where you live? Are you actually experiencing fall?
-Are you doing something exciting this weekend? Or will be joining me in my 72 hour pajama party?
Love,
Rebs!
It is 82 degrees here in Portland Oregon still so I’m not feeling the fall yet. Oh my goodness I need those two purple colors, they are perfect! I love a matte red all year round but matte purple just screams fall.
Hey Victoria!
I’m glad to know I’m not the only person in the country still dealing with hot weather. I keep seeing people on Twitter and Facebook talk about their 57 degree weather, and I get so jealous!
I really like Urban Night, I just have to work up the courage to wear Bordeaux Boulevard. I’m more of a bright lip color kind of lady, but I really need to branch out!
1. no, but now I need to! I love anything berry or purple for fall
2. it was finally below 80 today. so slightly less sweaty at work.
3. I don’t know about the rest of my weekend but I am currently sitting in sweatpants, writing advance blog posts, and alternating between red wine and margaritas. I won’t tell you what number glass I’m on…
Hey Rachel!
It’s still getting into the 90’s where I am, so I’m pretty jealous of anything under 80!
And I do not judge number of glasses, especially on a Friday night, after a long week! I’ve got to catch up with all my blog reading, so I look forward to seeing what you’ve been up to on your blog!
