Hey friends!
Look what else came in the mail? The Fortune Cookie Soap Box!
I told you, I am having the best mail week ever! (Also I just finished Ch. 4 of my thesis, so there was lotsss of procrastination happening these past few days.)
This is only my second FCS Box, and I was excited to try their Winter scents, as well as try some new products. I was also tickled with their National Lampoon Christmas Vacation themed box. Really, who doesn’t love that movie? It’s a classic. At least in my family.
The FCS Box is $19.99 and quarterly, so it only happens 4 times a year. (This is how I justify keeping it around, because I’m pretty sure my monthly box bill is getting close to my monthly tuition bill. Ha. Just kidding. Tuition always wins…boo.)
Anyway, if you’re considering signing up for the next FCS box, which will be Spring, check out the kind of products you might find below! (And check out my Fall Box review here).

I’m surprised I’m not a member of a Jelly of the Month club with the way I’m obsessed with monthly subscriptions.
All the goods:
Already, I was digging this box more than Fall just because I liked the types of products included in the Winter box more.
Every box comes with a nice, colorful card that explains about each product and scent. It also has a $10 coupon on the back. I do love me a coupon.
“Moose Mug” Cuticle Butter- That is kind of a boring little black jar. Fortunately, I do like it’s contents. This has a nice Eggnog smell, (not as good as Haus of Gloi’s, but it still smells really tasty). It’s also seems to be moisturizing without being too greasy. I’ve been putting it on before bed and my terrifying cuticles are actually looking better.
Here’s what it looks like in the jar:
“Mele Kelekimaka” OCD Hand Sanitizer- This smells like Malibu rum to me, (which makes me think about being 21. Malibu Rum is not your friend. Craft beer is your friend!), which it’s intended to, but I’m not sure how I feel about that in a hand sanitizer. This is my second FCS hand sanitizer, and I just feel like they aren’t scented that well in general. But hey- in my line of work, I will take all the hand sanitizer I can get.
“Jello Surprise” Whipped Cream-Festive Plum with a zesty curl of citrus, all wrapped up pretty-like with winter orchid and soft sandalwood. First, I can’t get over that name. Second, I actually really like the texture of FCS whipped creams. They are very lightweight and dry quickly, so I’m not smearing moisturizer on all my belongings for 30 minutes after using it.
My Jello Surprise Whipped Cream, was probably not the scent I would have picked out for myself, (Jelly of the Month sounds up my alley), but this scent has really grown on me. There’s something undeniably Christmas about it, but I can’t put my finger on what it is specifically. The plum? The sandalwood? I don’t know, but I will definitely be using this up!
“Christmas Bonus” Deep Conditioner- This seems like a really nice deep conditioner. I just recently chopped off like all my hair and don’t need to deep condition the few remaining strands, so I’m going to pass this along to someone who will love it.  We’re supposed to take a guess on what the mystery scent is to win a giftcard. To me this smells like aged Fruit Roll ups that have been carefully dusted with birthday cake crumbs and the tears of a lady who is spending all her money on makeup…yeah, I don’t know.

“Fried Pussycat” Whipped Soap and “Sparky” Hydrate Me. I left it in the wrapper because it was oozing on things. I later learned I could stick it in the fridge to end this oozing.
“Fried Pussycat” Whipped Soap- I wanted to love this because Haus of Gloi has shown me there is nothing better in life than whipped soap. However, FCS is still tweaking their formula it seems like. I only got a jar that was about 1/4 full of soap. It smells nice and seems to lather nicely, but I was sad that there’s so little. I noticed on Facebook they are addressing this issue, so props to them for handling that.

I promise I did not stick my finger in the whipped soap. No for real, I am not being facetious for once!
“Sparky” Hydrate Me– This smell is described as “pumpkin waffles” on the info card, and they totally nailed it. This smells buttery, syrupy and delicious. I’m terrified to use it though. Apparently you are supposed to rub this on yourself after showering and it will “moisturize” you. (With my body, “moisturize” is actually a code word for “turn into an oil slick”). I might pass this on unless I work the nerve up to try it soon.
“I Pledge Allegiance, Amen!” Shower Steamer- Well, this is where my $10 coupon is going. It turns out, I love shower steamers! I placed this guy near the back of my shower, but close enough to get some steam, and as it dissolved it released a really strong, fresh, minty scent. I have bad allergies this time of year, so I appreciated the refreshing scent. I actually got 2 showers out of this steamer, too. (Because I forgot it was there and left it.) I definitely want to pick some of these up!
“Tis the Season to be Mary” Fortune Cookie Soap– I don’t get much of a smell from this, but I still think the shape and idea behind these are adorable. I haven’t used the one from my last box and I kinda don’t want to. Like, what do these look like when you actually use them as soap? Mushed fortune cookie? It’s too sad, I want to enjoy the pretty shape!
Overall, I had some clear favorites from this box: I really liked the Shower Steamer, Whipped Cream, and Cuticle Butter. I’m hoping I can score some Shower Steamers when they launch all the new products, and maybe something in a the “Sparky” scent. I do have a $10 coupon that’s burning a hole in my pocket.
I definitely think this was worth the quarterly $20, as I’ll be using most of these products throughout winter.
Questions of the Day:
-What did you think of the Fortune Cookie Soap Box?
-What’s your favorite Winter scent?
-What does a used Fortune Cookie Soap look like? I really want to know. Preferably, I’d like a visual. Thanks in advance.
Love,
Rebs!
My whipped soap was only about a quarter full as well. (My unboxing went up just a couple days ago.) I can’t give you a visual of the used fortune cookie soap, because they just disappear! After using it for a while it collapses on itself and then goes away as you continue using it. At the beginning it retains its shape, though, and just gets sudsy.
Oh wow, thanks for clearing up the fortune cookie soap question for me! I’ve been hoarding the one from the fall box, but I might use it now because I’m curious! (Also it smelled so good.)
