Hey friends!
Well, I managed to get a Glamour Doll Eyes’ OTM box this month! It was an exciting day for me as these $8 subscriptions go like hot cakes each month. They’re usually released when I’m at work with the slowest internet connection known to man, (like really, really, really slow. I think I could actually hear the internet wheezing in pain), so it’s not everyday I succeed in this endeavor.
And I’m glad I did, because I adored this month’s OTM!
If you’re new to Glamour Doll Eyes their Color of the Month subscription is not necessarily reoccurring, but sold by the month. For example there were 12 month, 6 month, and 3 month subscriptions. At this point in the year there are only 1 month and 2 months, left. My internet only allowed me to get the 1 month, which means I’ll have to battle again in December if I want the OTM then. It’s intense, but worth it!
Check out what I got and maybe you’ll be battling, too:
Hello cute box that I will re-use for Christmas presents.
The goods:
There was a lot of good stuff going on in that little box! Let’s start with the featured products for the month.
Hot For Teacher Blush by GDE Light pink matte base with a subtle golden sparkle
This is a preview of a blush in the upcoming Liars Keep Secrets collection that Glamour Dolls is doing with Kiss My Sass Cosmetics. It’s a little too cool and pink for my skin tone, but I’m going to pass it on to a good home.
More Pie, Please! by GDE Semi matte bright red with a golden green sparkle and sheen
This was the official shadow of the month. I think it’s lovely, but I am going to have to be super creative to work it in, because I’m usually pretty terrified of red eye shadow. Challenge accepted!
Food Coma Pressed Eyeshadow by GDE A light to medium brown with a beautiful pink sheen and green sparkle
Now this shade is completely in my comfort zone. I’ve already worn it to work twice using GDE’s Obscure in the crease. It leans a bit cool on my skin tone, but it’s really pretty with other taupey browns.
Also side note: I haven’t used pressed shadow in so long now that I kinda forgot what I was supposed to do with it. I did love this pressed alternative for GDE’s shades because it’s easy to use and travels well. When I’m running late in the morning and don’t have time for sticky primers to dry, I’ll be smacking this on my eyelids.
Swatches or More Pie, Please and Food Coma (ha, those names):
And I was feeling inspired in my car one morning and took a picture of my work look I used with Food Coma. For once, my eyeball look was actually work appropriate!

GDE Food Coma on the lid, Obscure in the crease, and Chasing Ghouls on the brow. Urban Decay Hustle on the bottom lashline. Out of control brows by Rebs.
The Samples:
Restraining Order (from the upcoming Orange is the New Black set) – This appears to be a light peach shimmery shade. Subtle and pretty.
If Lying Was a Crime-(from Kiss My Sass) Bronzed plum with purple and bronze shimmer.
This is totally the kind of shade I love. A mauvey shade with golden and brown sparkles? It’s everything I want for my eyes, thanks.
Friend Zoned- This looks like a deep navy blue with a bit of light blue sparkle. Great color, but I don’t wear a lot of blues.
What my whole arm looks like on any given night:
Black Violet’s Gold Rush Sample:
I was pretty pumped to be getting a Black Violet sample in this order, as I had just broken down and ordered some things from her Black Violet Friday sale. (For my indie advent calendar Mr. Danger is giving me for Christmas, more on that later!)
Gold Rush-Crisp golden apples, juicy pineapple, ripe bananas, and golden kiwi with a light an airy feminine musk.
My skin is hit or miss with fruit based perfumes, and this one only lasted about an hour on me. It smells very fresh, fruity, and sweet, and I think it would be a great summer perfume. It’s a bit too sweet for my personal tastes, but if you are into feminine, fun scents this would probably work well for you.
Overall: I loved Food Coma and If Lying was a Crime, and the other shadows were still lovely, just not every day use colors. They will get used in my collection or given to good homes.
I think my $8 was well spent. I really enjoyed trying out some new items from the upcoming collections and this just made me even more excited for my Black Violet order.
Questions of the Day:
-Will you be battling it out for a December OTM?
– Have you ever worn red eye shadow? Tips, please.
– Any of the upcoming Glamour Doll Eyes collections sound interesting to you? I’ve kinda got my eye on the “That’s Awkward” set.
Love,
Rebs!
This looks pretty cool 🙂 I can’t believe I’ve never heard of it!
The OTMs are an awesome deal, but they are really competitive to get!
