Hey friends!
I’ve got a pretty purple eye look today and a fabulous Christmas beer. Check out the EOTD and BOTD!
Eye of the Day:
Please excuse the eyebrows, but today’s Eye of the Day features Hello Waffle’s Ethereal Voice on the lid.
I can not say enough about this beautiful color. It’s a mauvey warm purple with golden shimmer, and it’s perfect for work or going out. It’s such a multi-dimensional, shimmery color, I kinda checked out my eye balls in the mirror all day while I was wearing it. I looked GOOD.
In the picture below I’m using Wet N Wild’s Walking on Eggshells’ Crease Color and Browbone Color to balance it with neutrals and make it work appropriate. I like using a sticky base to bring out the shimmer, but it works great with regular primer, too.
You can get a full size for about $6 at Hello Waffle’s website, (or a sample for about $2-$5 if you don’t believe me), and it’s worth every penny.
Beer of the Day: Karbach’s Yule Shoot Your Eye Out Seasonal Ale
I’m kinda weird in that I’m not A Christmas Story fan, but Mr. Danger is and he basically demanded I feature this beer. It’s pretty much his all time favorite Christmas beer.
This creation comes from Karbach Brewery in Houston, Texas. It’s 8% by ABV and it might make your Christmas wishes come true!
I personally think this tastes like gingerbread cookie beer. I definitely pick up on ginger and nutmeg spices, on the first taste. It’s also lightly malty, but not too sweet. I also feel it kinda leans more towards a stout profile rather than an ale, but nonetheless if you’re not a dark beer fan, this probably isn’t for you.
However, if you’ve always wondered what gingerbread beer tasted like or you’re in the mood for a good spiced beer, this will be right up your alley. Plus, the label art on this would make it a great gift for any craft beer loving friend or family member.
Rebs’ Beer Rating: 4.5/5
(That’s right I just created an arbitrary beer rating system. Don’t worry, it’s going to be super scientific.)
Questions of the Day:
-Favorite purple eye shadow?
-Favorite Christmas movie?
-Any desserts you’ve ever wondered would work out as beer/cocktails?
Love,
Rebs
