Hey friends!
Guess what!? It’s Friday! And my best friend is in town!!!!
Ahhhhhh, happiest of weekends!
My best friend and I have been besties since I was born, (She’s older by 9 months, and always had more hair.) so there will be much laughter and beer drinking this weekend. Mr. Danger already has the taps set up for her arrival.
Anyways, the weekend of the BFF kicks off Beers I ♡ Month! This month will be featuring some of my favorite beers, and some Valentine’s Day inspired makeup choices. Because hearts and pink and chocolate. Yeah, Valentine’s Day theme!
So let’s start Happy Hour!
Please remember to enjoy your beer and makeup responsibly.
Makeup Product of the Week: Favorite Pink Lipsticks!
So I don’t usually like to wear pink lipstick, although every now and then I get a urge in the Spring. When I do wear a pink lipstick I usually like rose colors or dusty pinks, as anything else tends to give me a “My Lips But Deader Look” (a term I first saw on Hello Waffle’s website). I also find these colors to be very universally flattering, so hopefully most people can find a lipstick they like from this bunch.
As always my favorite lipsticks are also: lightweight and comfortable to wear, have a good longevity, and CHEAP. My goal with lipstick is that it should be so low maintenance, I should forget that I’m wearing it. All 6 of these lipsticks I’m sharing are pretty close to that ideal!
I did include some different finishes in this line up. NYX Cupcake is a lip gloss, and NYX Antwerp is a soft matte cream, (one of my favorites ever). Revlon’s Valentine is a balm stain, it comes out bright pink, but the stain is just a nice, true pink.
And if you’re not feeling dusty pinks and roses, here’s a bonus for you:
ColourPop’s Tuxedo is a BARBIE pink and glossy. It’s part of their Forget the Fruitcake set, and dang. It is PINK.
If you’re interested in lighter or darker pinks that work better with your skin color, let me know in the comments, and I can pull together a list of those!
Beer Product of the Week: Well’s Banana Bread Beer
I’ll be honest, this is kinda a gimmicky beer, but I really do love it. To me, it’s a dessert beer that I only pick up as a special treat from time to time. But it tastes like banana bread! And beer! What’s not to like?
It’s got a very sweet, almost caramel-y, banana bread flavor, that I feel like gets more fruity as it warms up. It’s nicely carbonated, smooth, and mild. It doesn’t have a strong beer flavor or intense hops, so it’s perfect for people wanting to try unique beers without getting overwhelmed.
Did I mention it tastes like banana bread? And beer?
So that’s this week’s Happy Hour! Let me know if you try out any of these pink lipsticks or Banana Bread Beer!
Have a lovely weekend! I should be back later this weekend with a Subscription Post, but we’ll see how busy best friend and I get!
Love,
Rebs!
Questions of the Day:
-What’s your favorite pink lipstick?
-What dessert would you like to see made into a beer?
-Does your bestie live in the same city as you?
PS: Again, if you need some pink lip recommendations that work better for lighter or darker skin, let me know and I can meet with my team, (AKA my friends) to create a list. Hopefully the ones I’ve included will be flattering to most skin colors!
I wanna try all of these pinks! I love the two Rimmel Showoff lipgloss stain things that I have. Hard to categorize but great lasting power. 🙂 Have you tried NYX Tokyo? It’s a very light opaque baby cool toned pink. I am very cool toned pale, and it looks very interesting with my most black and lengthening mascara (telescopic).
I have some other Rimmel Showoff things and they a great product for the value! For some reason, they smell like melon to me?
I’ve got a lot of yellow tones in my skin, so pale pinks usually make me look like a zombie, but I envy people who can pull them off!
Thanks for the post and lovely product recommendations. They are now on my wishlist. I’m especially obsessed with the NYX gloss in Cupcake. 🙂
The Cupcake color is so perfect for summer! Thanks for stopping by the blog!
Awesome lip choices! There are really so many awesome lipsticks and such at the drugstore you really don’t need to break the bank to find something you love. Also that beer sounds flippin delicious.
Lipstick is the one area I never splurge on because like you said, there are just so many great, cheap options.
And the Banana Bread beer is great, even if you aren’t a beer drinker! It’s like dessert in a glass!
