Hey friends!
I guess this is more like EOTN? Or EOthenextD? Either way, I wanted to do more one more look with the Aromaleigh Feast of Lupercal Collection before February ended. This collection’s been getting some rotation in my daily life, so I made sure to get another picture in of one of my favorite shades!
And also the beer for today, Shiner’s Birthday Beer Stout, completely took me by surprise. I actually did a beer double take. Yes, that happens.
So let’s check out EOTD/BOTD!
Eye of the Day: Aromaleigh’s Luperci, ($1-$6.50)
I wrote about this shadow in my Feast of Lupercal review, and it’s still one of my favorites. It comes across as a glowy purple-blue/brown duochrome on me, and it’s so lovely and unique. I wear it with Glamour Doll Eyes Glitter Fix, because I really love how the sticky base brings out the shift.
Despite not being your typical professional color, I do wear it to work. (I work 5 days a week, and life is too short to wear all your cool colors on the weekend.) To tone it down for work, I use some neutral colors from the Naked Palette in the crease, brow, and lower lash line. I also try to keep my eyeliner pretty tame to offset the fact that I am indeed wearing a brown-blue duochrome shadow to work.
Business professional duochrome. DONE.
Beer of the Day: Shiner Birthday Beer Chocolate Stout
First, I don’t know if Shiner counts as a craft brewery, but I’m not here to discuss those finer points. I am here to discuss this Birthday Beer that I picked up on a whim. (Because it looked like a birthday cake, TBH.)
Shiner says:Brewed with chocolate malt and real cocoa, our new chocolate stout is the perfect way to celebrate 106 years at the “little brewery” in Shiner. It has a soft creamy head and slightly sweet finish, but enjoy it while you can. Once this party’s over you’ll have to wait until next year for another birthday surprise.
Rebs Says: This straight up tastes like vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup. And beer. It’s extremely chocolately, and you get a lot of that cocoa taste in the finish. I almost don’t feel like this is a real stout, because it doesn’t have that robust or thick taste I associate with the style. That being said, if you want to try a beer that tastes like those little Bluebell ice cream cups they serve at kids birthday parties, you want this.
I don’t have any problem, (or shame), with drinking a beer that tastes like ice cream, so I am down with Shiner Birthday Beer.
Rebs’ Rating: 4/5 Beer Stars
Questions of the Day:
-What kind of eye shadows do you wear to work?
-What’s your favorite dessert beer?
Friends, my posting may be belated the next few days. I think I’m coming down with something and smearing perfume oils and glitter on myself does not have the curative properties I had hoped for. I’m going to be spending my free time resting and avoiding illness, so if posts are a bit late, I apologize in advance. Sorry and lots of love!
