Subscription Sunday: Glamour Doll Eyes’ April OTM

Hey friends!

How’s your Sunday going? Mr. Danger and I are loving the beautiful weather today, (because summer is coming), and grabbed some coffee before being ultra productive and running errands. (And then Mr. Danger passed out on the couch, so I think that burst of energy is over.)

Last night I got to finally test out my Glamour Doll Eyes’ OTM eye shadow, when I went out to our favorite neighborhood pub, (which I could probably wear my pajamas to-so makeup wasn’t really necessary, but I think they were impressed with my eye look!) So today I wanted to share this lovely shade and the eye look I did with it.

Did I mention the theme? It’s pretty adorable. Check it out!

Technical stuff:

The Glamour Doll Eyes OTM is a $10 subscription that will now be sold in a month-to-month subscription, where you can cancel at any time. This is a big change, as previously subscriptions were sold in monthly increments like 2 months and 3 months. Now, if I’m understanding the update correctly, anyone who has a current subscription has been moved to month-to-month processing. I had just won a 6 month subscription in the lottery drawing, so I believe that means I am now subscribed for the rest of the year. HALLELUJAH. It seems 1 month OTMs will still be available to purchase, so if you are not subscribed you will get a chance to try a one-off month.

To get a subscription with this new system, you will have to enter your name onto a waiting list for any openings. This list is not currently up yet, but I would just keep an eye on the Glamour Doll Eyes OTM website, or the Facebook page for more updates, since this change doesn’t seem to be happening until later this month or early May.

Anyway, for this month my April subscription shipped on the 8th and it was delivered on the 11th, so good timing as always.

Good Stuff: The theme this month was Crazy Cat Lady. I’m more of an Insane Puppy Lady, but I thought this idea was unique and cute. And again, who ever is doing the graphic design on the info cards this year is rocking it.

Glamour Doll Eyes April OTM

This actually came with 3 Swedish Fish, but by the time I took the picture there was only 1.

Color of the Month: Bandit- A wash of green and golden sheen with a subtle brown under tone, finished off with a canary sparkle

Glamour Doll Eyes Bandit Shadow

Top half swatched over UDPP, bottom half over GDE Glitter Fix. Sparkles throwing off my camera’s game.

I’ve gotten a lot of green eye shadows in my indie subscriptions lately, but I have been loving them all, and this one is no exception. What  I like about Bandit is that it has more brown undertones and an amazing sparkle than my other greens. I also like that this looks completely different over the two primers I tried it with. Over UDPP, it’s soft and muted, I could probably get away with it for work. Over GDE Glitter Fix it’s stunning, a bright bold green with a tone of sparkle. It’s a pretty multi-tasking color, and I’m really excited to play with it this month!

Blush:Purr-SuasianA matte brown based mauve with a slight green sheen

Glamour Doll Eyes Blush Pur-Suasion

Layered on the right, lightly blended on the left. Both TBH, both swatches are pretty thick so you can get an idea of the shade.

We also got a full size blush this month. This definitely swatched brown-mauve on my arm, and I didn’t get too much sheen, but I also used it on bare skin. Over foundation, that sheen might come out more. With this pigmented blush, a little bit goes a long way, but it blended out pretty well. I like mauves on my skin tone, so I think I’ll be getting some use of it. Purr-suasion also came with a shifting sifter lid, which is awesome because I can take this blush to go now.

Notoriously Morbid Lip Balm-Yes, Meowster-The perfect little ole’ cat lady mix of herbal lavender, a touch of musk, and creamy vanilla. The purrfect flavor to make your lips kissable.
Notoriously Morbid Lip Balm
I like Notoriously Morbid’s Coffin Kissers, but I think I would prefer this scent in a soap form, rather than a lip balm. It smells nice, but the lavender makes it more of a soothing scent I want to smell around me, not on my lips, if that makes sense? I’ll probably pass this on to my crazy Cat Lady friend.

Eye Look with OTM:I decided to go bold and use Glitter Fix with my eye look, but I’m going to attempt a second one with just regular primer for that soft muted green.

GDE OTM BanditI used Bandit over Glitter Fix all over the lid. Hello Waffle’s Rumpelstiltskin to darken the outer corner, and a bit of Hello Waffle’s What Was Promised in the inner corner. I used Too Faced’s Chocolate Bar palette in the crease and brow. Definitely more dramatic than what I usually do, but I loved it.

Overall:

Glamour Doll Eyes April OTMI really liked Bandit and Purr-suasion, and I know I’ll be able to get some use out of them this month. The theme was really cute and creative, and those Swedish Fish were delicious. So overall, I’m pretty pleased with this month!

I’m looking forward to May! (It’s my birthday month!! MUCH EXCITE.)

Questions of the Day:

-What did you think of this month’s OTM?
-How would you use Bandit? (I also want to try it as an eyeliner)
-Are you a crazy cat lady/man? Or is it another animal that you want to hoard?

Love,

Rebs!
