Hey friends!
This Happy Hour is particularly exciting because I am done with grad school! FOREVER. I feel like everyone needs to stop, drop, and celebrate. Where ever you are, whatever you are doing-I invited you to join the post-grad school celebration!
And on that note, I have a really great drinkable summer beer to share with you, Breckenridge’s Agave Wheat Ale. I also am doing a mini-theme for Happy Hour this month: Favorite Splurge Products! Although I’m totally frugal cheap, even I have to agree that there are some products that simply can’t be dupped. So this month I’ll be sharing my favorite beauty and makeup products that I think are worth it, starting with Benefit’s Gimme Brow! I’m also going to include a cheaper dupe version if you aren’t feeling my high priced option.I try to be here for you.
So let’s check it out!
Makeup of the Week: Benefit’s Gimme Brow in Light, $22
Closest Dupe: Sonia Kashuk’s Tinted Eyebrow Gel, $7
I resisted buying Gimme Brow for years because it’s a tiny little tube that costs $22. To me that is super ridiculous. However, I finally broke down and got it with my my Ulta birthday card. And fortunately and unfortunately, I really liked it.
I really like Benefit’s small wand. It makes it easy to apply the light gel. All I have to do is run this through my eyebrows and I get naturally looking fuller brows, and tame any crazy hairs at the same time. I’m not including a picture of my brows because they’re currently a hot mess, but I really enjoy how easy it is to use Gimme Brow.
Sonia Kashuk’s Tinted Brow Gel only comes in color, a dark brown. So good luck if you have lighter brows. It also has a wand, but a much bigger and less flexible one. The brow gel itself actually lasts a bit longer than the Gimme Brow, but its also thicker and a bit harder to work with:
So, I prefer Gimme Brows easy to use gel formula and wand. But, Sonia Kashuk’s is about $16 bucks cheaper. So it’s all about preference.
Beer of the Week: Breckenridge Agave Wheat Ale
I like wheat ales in the summer. They’re usually light, refreshing and I like the wheat-bread flavors. The Agave Wheat Ale by Breckenridge is no exception. This is a light, wheaty beer, with a hint of citrus. It almost leans a bit sweet, but I think it works here. It’s got a bit of carbonation, but it tastes smooth and is easily drinkable. It’s not a terribly unique beer, but it’s a great standard for a party or a hot summer day. And if you’re new to beer drinking, this is also a great starting point. The light, sweet and citrus taste is really accessible and I think most people could enjoy this beer.
I’m sitting here writing this and I kinda want another one. So it’s a pretty good here is what I’m saying.
That’s it for tonight! Enjoy your Friday!
Love,
Rebs!
Questions of the Day:
-Have you tried Gimme Brow or Tinted Brow Gel?
-What’s your favorite summer beer?
-Are you celebrating yet! You should be!
Congratulations!!! 🙂
Woo! Being done with school has got to feel SO good! I also am a huge fan of Gimme Brow and agree that there really isn’t a comparable drugstore dupe (cause I’ve been searching). On the plus side, even though it’s tiny, the tube does seem to last a really long time!
